Utica University Cybersecurity Program Makes List of Fortune’s Best Online Masters Degrees
Cybersecurity students in Utica’s master’s program can specialize in computer forensics, cyber operations, cyber policy, data analytics, electronic crime, intelligence or malware analysis.
Utica University’s master’s Cybersecurity program was recently ranked thirteenth in the country, according to Fortune magazine.
The need for highly-trained cybersecurity professionals is growing very quickly, said program director Andrew Carr. The number of cyber attacks increased 15 percent last year alone, and total money lost to cybercrime increased 64 percent to $6.9 billion, as reported by the FBI in its annual Internet Crime Report.
“The attacks are increasing in both numbers and sophistication, making it even more important for companies to hire specially-trained cybersecurity professionals,” Carr said.
Cybersecurity students in Utica’s master’s program can specialize in cyber operations, digital forensics, and cyber crime & fraud. As a leader in economic crime programs for more than 25 years, Utica designed the online master’s in cybersecurity to combine state-of-the-art practices in intelligence, forensics and cyber operations.
With a cadre of accomplished faculty bringing a wealth of real-world knowledge, Utica’s cybersecurity program is designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education (CAE-CD) by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security through the academic year 2024.
