Biography
After graduating from the University at Albany with her Master of Science in Library and Information Science as well as her Master of Arts in English Literature, Samantha managed an organic grocery store for four short months before being hired as a part-time reference librarian for SUNY Adirondack Community College. Samantha learned as much about librarianship, academia, and professionalism as a faculty member as she had learned in her gen-eds as a student in the 2010s. An intense curiosity, love of learning and discourse, and desire to do more pushed Samantha to apply for full-time librarian positions at four-year institutions, ultimately earning her the position as Reference Librarian and Coordinator for Health Sciences at UC. Samantha works with Health Sciences faculty and students to support their research and scholarship, as well as developing outreach opportunities and working on her own scholarship within librarianship and antiracism in academia.
