A Banner Fundraising Year
Dear Colleagues,
Last week we closed the books on what I am happy to report was one of the University’s most successful fundraising years to date.
Together, alumni, friends, and University partners gave more than $4.8 million in total gifts and commitments to the University. This marks the highest annual fundraising total in the University’s history outside of a major campaign year, representing an almost 10 percent increase over last year’s tally – a remarkable accomplishment in a time of national economic uncertainty.
This level of generosity reflects an inspiring show of confidence in the University’s mission and vision for the future. Private philanthropy provides critical support of educational excellence, allowing us to continue fulfilling our promise to deliver affordable, high-impact learning while elevating and enriching the student experience. It is an essential component in promoting the success of this institution moving forward.
Highlights of this banner year include:
- More than $2.7 million in giving to the Fund for Student Success, a 9 percent increase over 2025-26.
- $843,291 in new gifts to scholarships, a 5 percent year-over-year increase.
- A record-breaking Give Day
Additionally, the University received its largest-ever private gift specifically in support of high-impact experiential learning, expanding support to students across all majors for academic conferences, research presentations, internships, and other hands-on, career-building opportunities.
I want to express my great appreciation for our Advancement team and for the efforts of everyone who contributed to this successful fundraising year, including the many faculty, staff, alumni, and students who stepped up on Give Day with their support. Here’s to an even better showing in 2026-27.
Sincerely,
Stephanie Nesbitt
President
